Uric Acid (UA) is the final product of purine metabolism in humans, and its concentration is determined by the balance between purine intake, endogenous production, and renal excretion. UA has a dual biological role, acting as both an antioxidant and a pro-oxidant depending on the microenvironment. Therefore, its determination is of great interest in studies related to oxidative stress, as it may provide valuable information about the redox status and oxidative balance in biological systems. Uric Acid 원리

The BQC Uric Acid Assay Kit is based on an enzymatic reaction in which uricase catalyzes the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). The H₂O₂ produced subsequently oxidizes ferrocyanide (Fe²⁺) to ferricyanide (Fe³⁺), which then reacts with phenol and 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) to form a red quinoneimine dye with a maximum absorbance at 505 nm. Therefore, the intensity of the colored product is directly proportional to the uric acid concentration in the sample.
